Acceptable Use.

1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) explains what is and is not acceptable when using the Ethos A.I Website today, and — as a matter of intent — how the future Ethos A.I software is meant to be used. It supplements the Terms of Use.

2. Website Use

When using the Website, please do not do any of the things listed in the Prohibited Website Conduct section of the Terms.

3. Future Product Use

Ethos A.I is being designed as a local AI platform intended to run on hardware the user controls. When the software becomes available, users will be responsible for how they use it, what they connect to it, and what they do with its output. This AUP describes categories of use that will not be permitted with the future Ethos A.I software.

4. Prohibited Uses

You may not intentionally use Ethos A.I (the Website today or the future software) to:

• violate any applicable law or regulation;
• gain unauthorized access to computers, networks, accounts, or data;
• steal, phish for, or misuse credentials of any kind;
• develop, deploy, or distribute malicious software (malware, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers, remote-access trojans);
• conduct fraud, financial theft, identity theft, or other forms of deception intended to obtain something of value;
• impersonate another person or entity in a deceptive way;
• bypass access controls, digital rights management, or other technical protection measures without authorization;
• invade another person's privacy, including tracking, monitoring, or profiling people without a lawful basis;
• stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate any person;
• facilitate exploitation, abuse, or trafficking of any person;
• create, distribute, or facilitate child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”);
• create or distribute non-consensual intimate content, or content designed to sexually exploit a minor;
• intentionally cause physical harm to any person or property;
• send unlawful spam, unlawful commercial messages, or unlawful bulk communications;
• infringe intellectual-property rights (copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret) of others;
• unlawfully collect, use, or disclose personal information about others;
• evade legally required safeguards, sanctions, export controls, or age restrictions;
• interfere with another person's computers, networks, services, or data.

5. User Responsibility

Because Ethos A.I is intended to operate on hardware the user controls, the user remains responsible for:

• their configuration and settings;
• the folders and files they choose to make available to the software;
• the tools, models, and services they connect;
• the permissions they grant to other people or systems;
• their own compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
• backups of anything they cannot afford to lose;
• network and physical security of the host device;
• reviewing AI output before acting on it, particularly for anything important.

6. Enforcement Reality

To be clear about what enforcement actually looks like today: this Website does not monitor local computers, and Ethos A.I does not currently include remote enforcement or remote disable mechanisms. Enforcement of this AUP today is limited to what we can do through the Website — for example, discontinuing communication with an obviously abusive sender, or referring unlawful behavior to appropriate authorities. Any future product enforcement mechanisms will be described accurately in the applicable EULA and this AUP will be updated at that time.

7. Reporting

Suspected violations of this AUP, or reports of unlawful use of the Ethos A.I brand or Website by someone else, can be sent to info.ethosai@gmail.com. Please provide enough detail for the report to be actionable. We may investigate reports at our discretion and are not obligated to take any particular action.

8. Changes

This AUP may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Website after an update indicates acceptance of the updated AUP. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
