Greater data control

When processing happens on your own device, information doesn't have to be sent to a third-party cloud service for every request. That can reduce how often private material leaves your system.

This does not guarantee perfect privacy or absolute security.

Approved local documents

Ethos A.I is being designed to work only with folders or documents the user has authorized. It is not designed to automatically scan the entire computer.

  • Point it at a specific collection, not the whole disk
  • Enable and disable collections at any time
  • Kept out of anything you haven't explicitly approved

Offline-capable core use

Certain installed local features may continue to work when internet service is unavailable. Others still require connectivity.

  • Requires internet: initial downloads, software updates, internet research, cloud integrations, remote access, external services
  • Works offline (when installed): conversation with the local assistant, working with approved local documents, previously-installed local capabilities

Ethos A.I may remain available while the host computer or server is powered on. The physical machine still needs to be looked after.
